:eyebrow:

Oh, actually, does anybody know where the parody demake that he mentioned can be found?

I didn't. I thought it was quite clever, but not at all innovative. I was pretty opposed to its placement in that category.

I know. It's just that I have decided to spread lies about you until I get the cyborg.

I thought YHTBTR was a good joke, but that was it. It puzzles me slightly that, on the internet at least, essentially throwaway jokes can become almost hysterical movements with large numbers of people screaming "Oh my god it's GENIUS".

If there's one overused word from this year that I'd demote, it's "genius" ¬¬

You pretty much stole my thoughts. I just didn't express them due to 'Emperor's New Clothes-aphobia' where I was afraid that I'd missed some great meaning to it all and would look stupid if I said I didn't get it.

I was really more confused about the popularity You Have to Burn the Rope because it was basically the same joke as Quest for the Crown, which came out a few years before.

I didn't think it was even innovative in joke terms. Amusing enough though, but not what I would think should be award winning.

I'm not playing that! It has "additional writing" by Orson Scott Card ¬¬

Clearly it all has to do with the quality of the theme song. You really can't underestimate the value of something like that in this post-Portal world of ours.

Man, that E4 game was annoying.

I liked YHTBTR. Of course, it's nothing innovative, or greatly impressive on the level of 'game', but it's still something that I will pull out to show people.

Mainly because, well, I know we're all literate intelli-fucks over here, and grapple with gaming criticism and concepts daily, but I know quite a few people who get confused when I start talking about games in relation to concepts like story, challenge, boss battles, achievement etc.

So something like YHTBTR, or Achievement Unlocked, they're great launch-pads for those sorts of issues and discussions, especially for those to whom it wouldn't be clear from the start.

Ahhahahahaha!!! I didn't replay it before posting to see since I just remembered all of the credits as being copied and pasted from various other games, but how strangely relevant that the Orson Scott Card credit is there...

I think it's safe to say Quest for the Crown does not do much in terms of supporting Card's political views.

Damn, I was going to mention that but someone beat me to it. Even if you don't support Card though, you have to admit the cinematics by Scorsese and Alan Smithee were incredible.

Are you kidding?! It's clear that the crown represents Barack Obama's progressive stance and that "quest for" really means "mission to destroy the"...

You'll note that the crown can only be accessed from the LEFT while the (undoubtedly a Nazi) hero in this tale starts the game facing to the RIGHT! COINCIDENCE?!?

Edit: Nice one, elmuerte.
