brkl Posted March 16, 2010 Orders $50 or more have free shipping, I just read it in some new email. It's cool, I haven't ordered the recent DVDs even though they're free for me because I don't want to pay for shipping. Now I can get them if there's other stuff I want. thorn Posted March 16, 2010 Orders $50 or more have free shipping, I just read it in some new email. It's cool, I haven't ordered the recent DVDs even though they're free for me because I don't want to pay for shipping. Now I can get them if there's other stuff I want. And they're nice enough to count my order, which was exactly $49.90, as being over the threshold.I find it irritating that I can't pay for postage now for Sam & Max and just have it automatically sent when it's published, rather than having to do it in a seperate transaction in six months time. That said, I suspect they're hoping that I might go to the Telltale store and think to myself "Gee, if I'm already getting my credit card out to pay for postage, why don't I get this other stuff as well?" And I suspect it's no coincidence that the ToMI DVDs were released in the same week as S&M3 was officially announced. And I suspect that it's no coincidence that I'm enough of a sucker to have ended up upgrading to the Deluxe Edition.
brkl Posted March 16, 2010 What if you live somewhere else in six months time? It would be pretty complicated to collect postage now and hope everything turns out for the best.
syntheticgerbil Posted March 16, 2010 And they're nice enough to count my order, which was exactly $49.90, as being over the threshold.[/size] Haha, I screwed this up and didn't realize they were nice enough to round up until talking to a friend who preordered yesterday. So I bought another Wallace and Gromit episode to fill my 10 cents. One day I will have the last one. Anyways, what a nice company and I didn't even know it. Jayel Posted March 16, 2010 I didn't notice the free shipping thing until I had already placed the order. Instead of manning up and paying that $16 shipping charge on the dvd, put $50 worth of other crap (t-shirt, dvd, etc) into the shopping cart just to get free shipping. But I'll probably end up paying extra $20 or so for customs/duty fee. Curses, why are Canadians discriminated against so.
miffy495 Posted March 16, 2010 They never charge me any extra shit for customs unless a package is noticeably huge?
Jayel Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) I always get slapped with customs... I once ordered a $25 TV antenna that came in a tiny box (from the US) and got charged $8. gah. edit: can't believe I've been doing nothing but complaining about buying the game so far. I should be jumping up and down in joy that there's another sam & max coming out, not whining in forums. the past me would be greatly disappointed. syntheticgerbil Posted March 17, 2010 Next time tell the post office you are going to customly rearrange their face if they charge you.
Thyroid Posted March 17, 2010 Heh, considering that it's standard for customs here to charge 600%, be happy. A $1000 used car you buy from Korea will end-up costing you $6000 on the border alone.

pabosher Posted March 17, 2010 Time to buy some buttons! Time to buy a new brain for me. I love Sam and Max, I think I'm a pretty clever guy... It just turns out I'm not a particularly clever guy when it comes to Sam and Max! (Or most adventure games, for that matter)
Garple Posted March 27, 2010 A $1000 used car you buy from Korea will end-up costing you $6000 on the border alone. What a weird example.
