Hermie Posted May 16, 2010 Dio has rocked! For a long, long time... ;___; Rest in peace, you crazy, tiny bastard!
Kolzig Posted May 17, 2010 I was supposed to see Dio for the first time in my life this August in Pori Sonisphere Festival... I'm really sad now... One of the biggest metal gods is gone now...
Murdoc Posted May 17, 2010 So anyway, after my 3 hour marathon of Holy Diver this afternoon I really need to ask a stupid question. "... ride the tiger, you can see his stripes but you know he's clean; oh don't you see what I mean?" Well I don't know what he means; what the hell are is talking about? Or do I not want to know? He mentions cats in blue near the end (which as I understand are the police at some point in history) so there a message in here? Because I'd rather just interpret it as riding a literal tiger and cats wearing blue clothing. The music video is him cosplaying DnD so it was not much help. Man, Dio was fucking awesome. Snooglebum Posted May 19, 2010 Uh, this probably makes me an ignorant idiot, but who is Ronnie James Dio?
Hermie Posted May 19, 2010 Snooglebum said: Uh, this probably makes me an ignorant idiot, but who is Ronnie James Dio? An acclaimed hard rock/metal vocalist. He first became widely known playing in Rainbow (with Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple), and then he replaced Ozzie as the vocalist for Black Sabbath. After that he formed his own band, Dio. If you know one song by him, it's probably .He recently toured again with Sabbath, but couldn't use the name, so they called themselves Heaven & Hell, after the first album Dio made with them. toblix Posted May 19, 2010 What? Isn't he the "Life, nanananana" guy?!

Yes, Ozzy's dear wife denied the other Sabbath members the use of Black Sabbath name if Dio is the singer. I think she/Ozzy owns at least partly the rights to the name... Riding the tiger as a kind of parallel to chasing the dragon. So the heroin in this instance is clean. Stripes could be a couple of things: could be lines marking the volume in a syringe or it could be the uncooked product cut up into lines or even the tracks (2) of injection spots along someone's veins. Makes sense, I chose to interpret it literally though, for some reason this is the one case where it's more awesome, lol.
