Forza Motorsport 4 is what it says it is. The sequel to my game of the year of 2009, the best racing simulator on consoles, a game I put in well over 200 hours into. It offers improved handling models, greatly increased visuals, more content and relevant Kinect integration. I am so very hyped for this game, only 81 days to go until the 14th of October!

Like previous titles there is a collectors edition, which offers both physical and digital content, along with access to prestigious VIP club, giving exclusive cars with phenomenal tuning and art design to VIPs. It's very worth it if you plan to play for a decent amount of time.

If someone gets me a 360 I'll play with you guys. :violin:

I'm not sure I can justify the console when the only thing I really want on it is Forza, Gears and a couple XBLIG/XBLA titles.

:getmecoat

(I look forward to more absurd videos from your racing exploits, Pat.)

E: I fear I'm beginning to enjoy that Kanye West song. Someone help me. . .

Kinect does headtracking? But that sounds useful.

puzzling, isn't it?

I'm in, although I'm sure I'll be on at times non-conducive to playing with europeans.

I'm looking forward to this one primarily to drive around the Top Gear test track in a reasonably priced car.

that's awesome. I'm totally in love with the lighting engine in that game.

have there been any more details about what content can be imported from FM3? because i'm totally willing to grind to expand my garage in the meantime.

I'm really excited for the Top Gear content, I think that was a very, very smart move on their part. They've said for a long time that their dream with the Forza games is to try to turn people with a passing interest in cars into full-blown gearheads and Top Gear has been doing that in its own way. a buddy of mine with no interest in cars and a passing interest in video games is going to pick up 4 due to the TG integration.

I'm probably most looking forward to the Car club aspect, especially with the content which carries over from 3. Assuming they have leaderboards for tit it would be cool to see Idle Thumbs climb the ranks, I'd love it if Forza 5 had something along the lines of persistent teams, where you start with club style cars and your team improve to up to R1/XX, perhaps with a shared team bank account along with the individual drivers wallets.

My guess is that being level 50 and having the achievement for all cars in your garage will unlock most of it.

oh is that all? i think i'm like level 42 but there's several $1m+ cars i don't own and i certainly don't have the cash to buy them right now

The achievement is one car from each manufacturer. Getting all cars would take probably 1000 hours or more to get.

ohhhh ok, that's way more manageable, thank god. in that case i'm like two cars away from the achievement.

you could probably get them in less time if you abuse the High Speed Ring money "exploit," but even that would be grueling.

Just installed it.

 The presentation. I love Turn 10's menus, they're so slick!

 Being able to import my old profile and getting two achievements for it!

:tmeh: Not being able to get the leveling up achievements for the lower levels?

 Having to watch that terrible intro where Jeremy Clarkson talks about "we" as if though I would want to be associated with him in any way. I hope I don't have to hear any more from him ...

 I like how the game opens with a race – this game is so confident!

SWEET!

I spent about 40 minutes talking to Greenawalt at GamesCom, or more precisely in the conference centre the day before GamesCom. That cat really likes cars. I mean, really.

Yeah Turn 10 are incredible, the way they release information is very similar to Bungie, really well produced, enjoyable and giving an insight to their passion for the genre.

As for the car, I'm going to extend the bottom tup's arm to under the white stripe, then offer it on the store front.

Blix, I'll do you a special variant of this car with a different colour scheme and slightly customised, You can choose the colours if you want, If not I'll choose some significantly aggressive enough.

Want... this... game... (and that car)... so... hard. God damn it, school responsibilities. I just got rigged up with a new, not broken, laptop, so a bit of gaming while away from home is feasible again. Anything console probably won't happen until December at least. This game though. Fuck. This game...
