toblix Posted October 10, 2012 Anyone planning on getting this? Seems like the first game in forever that actually makes some changes to the formula ... maybe the multiplayer is fun?
dibs Posted October 10, 2012 Na, i still have the last one i got with thumbs sitting unplayed, and the ipad version. Worm's isn't as cool as i remember it being:(
toblix Posted October 10, 2012 Yeah, I got this, and it feels a bit rubbish. Feels like Team17 never really got comfortable with 3D.
BFrank Posted October 10, 2012 I really like it so far. Great game.
toblix Posted October 10, 2012 It's so damn slow. Whenever they do the scripted stuff, like in the first campaign levels, there's so. much. waiting.
Lu Posted October 10, 2012 Yea, seriously, they really need to cut those parts out. Is it better or worse than the amount of waiting in an online game of Worms Reloaded? Did your turn, now wait 10 seconds while we do some sort of network thingy! Did a player crash/lag out? Look at it forever. You'd think that after the 20 million Worms games they made, they'd have figured that shit out. They just keep making 'em, and they're always super flawed in one way or another. Oh and 30 goto 10. Orv Posted October 11, 2012 Uh, if you guys had pre-ordered you would have gotten Armageddon, the only Worms game worth playing, and we could play that instead.
miffy495 Posted October 14, 2012 I did! I have Armageddon! That was the sole reason I pre-ordered this game. Anyone else down to play the shit out of that and ignore the new game?
toblix Posted October 14, 2012 Weirdly, I'm unable to buy Armageddon, and only get a message saying it's available with the pre-purchase of Revolution, which I already have, and which is out.
BFrank Posted October 14, 2012 So I've played this a bit more now and I wanted to say how many great design decisions the game itself has. While I'm not a fan of the front end, pretty much every in-game element is more thoughtfully implemented than W2/W:A, which is a surprise after Reloaded was such a half-step in so many areas. It feels like they worked hard to address the balance between people who want to be really mobile and people who have an artillery focused play style, and it all works really well. So, to the extent that anyone reading this might want to play some Worms but felt that ball was dropped in the last few iterations, I'd say: this is the one to get. It's got some new ideas, it looks nice, I like the music, the way you connect to games isn't completely asinine anymore, etc. etc. etc. Feel free to add me on Steam if you ever want to play some games http://steamcommunit.../id/barneyfrank
