WickedCestus Posted July 1, 2016 I remember on Idle Thumbs recently there was an e-mail about how their levels were a lot better than other podcasts. At least, I think that was Idle Thumbs.... Lots of podcasts are really bad about that, though. I remember Giant Bomb having that problem with their videos a while ago.
Dewar Posted July 1, 2016 I sat down to play Halo last night and I figured it out, it was in the Microsoft press conference when they were talking about the Xbox One headset volume being low. I was starting to feel like a crazy person.
Griddlelol Posted July 4, 2016 I never have free time any more. Like, I work a decent amount (around 50-60 hours a week) but the rest of my time is filled with socialising or working out. I'm completely not used to this. I don't know if I like it or not, I kinda miss being bored and rarely seeing friends. At least I had time for video games then. dibs Posted July 4, 2016 The busier I am, the more i do. Like this week all my normal weekly things are called off at once (summer break) and i'm probs just going to sit and play mordor all week. When i have things to do every evening i make way more of an effort to do even more!

Griddlelol Posted July 4, 2016 It's more that I spent a long time of my life saying "no" to things sociable because I didn't really feel like doing anything in the moment. Now I just say yes, and I'm finding it really enjoyable, and I'm making friends way faster than I ever have before. My job is pretty toxic. While I like it, there's a backstabbing/snitching culture with some of the students and staff. I do 8am-5:30pm every day and get told I leave too early. It's just silly, and I'm doing my best to ignore it, but when I've got a 6 month probation period I can't really afford to fuck up.

Vulpes Absurda Posted July 25, 2016 Adding every movie and TV show you own into a Google Drive Spreadsheet makes for a surprisingly satisfying Sunday afternoon. And when you're done you get the look at the giant spreadsheet and realize where all your paychecks went!
eot Posted August 17, 2016 I still browse the web like it's 2005. I barely use any browser extentions, don't use a password manager and recently I found out that a lot of people sync their bookmarks and even their tabs between different devices. Maybe that's useful, I dunno, but I hardly ever use bookmarks and I'm not a fan of keeping a gazillion tabs open at once anyway. Am I getting old, or is it just that I don't take my browsing seriously enough? I only visit the same half dozen sites over and over.
SecretAsianMan Posted August 18, 2016 I use a lot of passive browser extensions, most of which I tend to forget I even have installed. I do use a password manager though. Bookmark and tab syncing is incidental for me in that they're built in and I use them because they're there but it's not something I've ever actively done or would miss if it was gone. I also hate having a million tabs open.
neonrev Posted August 18, 2016 I hate having a bunch of tabs open, and I reserve a special disdain for people who use permanently open tabs as a bookmark system.A program we use at work uses firefox to load and print job specs (so it can also send the info to the machinery I guess), and it creates a new tab for each job. At the end of the day the system is slower because it has around fifty firefox tabs open. There is not a situation in which having the tab open in the browser is useful in any way. Literally no one there had any idea that having a lot of tabs open was a performance hit, and they were just leaving the browser open day after day until it crashed. Me telling them to close tabs a couple times a day was an actual significant increase in production speed and was considered an act of great computer knowledge. The day I noticed that was what was happening, we had just under 500 open firefox tabs, all to static pages, but leading to a massive memory issue that slows down the entire process.I make medical equipment, by the way. This is in a 'laboratory'. Some of my co-workers are actual doctors and they failed to notice this. Mind-boggling.I use just an adblocker (unblocked on sites I like/support, blocked by default because ad-based revenue systems are broadly toxic and also virus-ridden.) and an extension that allows me to collapse my bookmarks into just their icon so I can fit more on the bookmark bar. Chrome is fully featured enough that I never needed much else.

Vasari Posted August 21, 2016 I don't use bookmarks or any fancy addons. I use a very tenuous workflow where I hope that whatever website I want to go to will autofill when I type in the first two or three letters. This system is bound to fail me someday.
