BigJKO Posted July 22, 2014 Wait, how is Routine a Myst-like like? Aside from the first person perspective?
Merus Posted July 23, 2014 I'm not seeing the Rhem games on that list.

stateofpsychosis Posted July 24, 2014 actually I did mention rhem. couldn't leave that out even if it was already mentioned in the other forum i just listed it as rhem 1-4 so you probably missed it I'm not sure about Routine Someone else suggested that to me they could have been wrong about the genre Anyways, another one I really suggest from that list is Lightbringer: the next giant leap for mankind aka Cydonia: Mars-The First Manned Mission that game is just awesome hands down just because of the subject matter hard as well
stateofpsychosis Posted July 24, 2014 oh speaking of the rhem series does anyone know if they improved/updated the graphics in rhem 1&2 in the rhem trilogy that you can buy on sites like gog and the adventure shop? I would totally buy them again if they did
stateofpsychosis Posted July 24, 2014 oh robot city. forgot about that one I think i have a macintosh copy kicking around somewhere.. is it any good?
stateofpsychosis Posted July 24, 2014 oh i just remembered one I really liked 1953 KGB unleashed great game also Safecracker: the ultimate puzzle adventure... short but good
sclpls Posted July 24, 2014 I remember liking it a lot at the time. I suspect that if I saw it now I would be really unimpressed though.

stateofpsychosis Posted July 24, 2014 yea cyber there are a lot of old games like that sadly.. they don't all age well was playing normality not long ago... the aweful 3d graphics were so bad they were making me nauscious and i had to stop playing it
stateofpsychosis Posted August 11, 2014 a brand new one on steam: mind path to thalamus it has high system requirements though.. i bought it and couldn't play it you need at least a shader model 4.0 card to run it since it used the unreal engine.. the system requirements listed of steam are totally wrong. don't go by those. stateofpsychosis Posted August 11, 2014 oh and I finally played dear esther though it was a pretty game it was nothing even close to myst like it didn't even have any puzzles at all a walking simulator? really? I did like the visuals though kairo was pretty good though. I liked that one. It actually had puzzles (easy ones) but I really liked the careful use of sound effects in the soundtrack there's one song on there that plays in one of the orange rooms... it has a sound effect it in that sounds like someone dragging a sandstone block. it really gave the game the feel it needed. only complaint was that the game was too short. @cyber found robot city and got it working not too bad. though the hot spots are whack might just be that I'm running it on a mac emulator
BigJKO Posted August 11, 2014 Here's a myst-like I stumbled upon on TIGSource. It's still in development, but looks awfully nice! http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=42674.

stateofpsychosis Posted August 13, 2014 1st person puzzle adventures are going to be so friggen awesome in VR we'll probably see a lot more start coming out when that gets released since 3rd person adventure games won't work for that medium good news since there are tons of 3rd person ones and very few first person
stateofpsychosis Posted August 14, 2014 the Dracula series looks myst like or at least 1st person adventure I'm not really into horror but I bought dracula 1&2 to try them out there are 5 games in that series so hopefully they are decent ... there's also montagues mount also couldn't get this working on my computer but it looks really gloomy and mysterious also horror but looks light-horror
stateofpsychosis Posted August 15, 2014 Obsidian - I'm ashamed I forgot to mention this one. It is total gem. Very difficult as well.
stateofpsychosis Posted August 26, 2014 Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting I played this one over the weekend. it's a horror game It was well done but I didn't like it much because I'm not a huge fan of horror and this one was grotesque. If you are a fan of horror though, you will love this game.
BigJKO Posted September 29, 2014 Was this already on your big list of myst-likes? Looks like a Myst-like. For Each Our Roads of Winter http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=317273742 Looks pretty gorgeous, if a bit dark!
Malfsyde Posted September 29, 2014 Some awesome games in here. I Kickstarted an upcoming game a while ago called XING: The Land Beyond which reminded me a lot of Myst tonally, though they've talked about doing more environmental and physics based puzzles rather than classic abstract Myst puzzles. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=128026759
stateofpsychosis Posted January 23, 2015 lol yea I've been waiting for Xing for forever now they must be putting their all into it because it's been quite a while that and prominence... I'm starting to think that game will never get released not sure if I mentioned this one already but: .secrets of the luxor sort of an egypt like one also just picked this up on ebay for 5 bucks: Majestic: Alien encounter part 1 and.... here's one that you may want to play: Darkstar: the interactive movie (NOT darkstar one... different game) it's a bit cheesy but you'll enjoy it read this though even though it's a SPOILER you will have to start the entire game over when you get to the end if you don't read this: it's not too bad of a spoiler anyways SPOILER WARNING: DO NOT pick up the gun in one of the crew cabins. There are two guns. if you pick up the wrong one look forward to starting the entire game over. You can't just go pick up the other one. totally stupid. other than that though... i really enjoyed that game had to watch the ending on youtube though because I was not doing the whole thing over again
